I've actually had absinthe in a bar around here. Quite good, if you like the flavour of licorice. I did find the issue that it takes a bit of actual stirring to get the sugar properly distributed and melding with the licorice flavour so that it's not like blowing a candy cane.

I've been watching Carnivale lately and was wondering what the substance in the spoon was when it was being poured (the sugar cube, incidentally. I felt it worth linking since there were neat pictures of green spirits and additional art. And the spoons look sweet.

Apparently, there was in one episode a parody of Megatron and Optimus Prime, both voiced by their original respective (Japanese) G1 cartoon voice actors.

The characters were called Mesutron and Ostimus Surprise. Yay, Japanese puns!
